It\u2019s simply a public good that should be universal and free.<br \/>\n\u201cAt the last federal election, Bill Shorten committed to make childcare free for households earning less than $70,000. It\u2019s really disappointing not to see the same commitment here. Those low-income families will continue to pay for childcare under Labor\u2019s new plan.<br \/>\n\u201cThis year the government flirted \u2013 very briefly \u2013 with free and universal childcare. There is no reason why we can\u2019t have it again.
