{"id":8611,"date":"2020-10-09T02:12:51","date_gmt":"2020-10-09T02:12:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=8611"},"modified":"2020-10-09T02:12:51","modified_gmt":"2020-10-09T02:12:51","slug":"tailored-careers-support-for-school-leavers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2020\/10\/09\/tailored-careers-support-for-school-leavers\/","title":{"rendered":"Tailored Careers Support For School Leavers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new targeted support package for young people is helping to tackle the uncertainty around leaving school and choosing the right career pathway.<br \/>\nThe National Careers Institute (NCI) has launched the School Leavers Information Kit and the School Leavers Information Service.<br \/>\nMinister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, said these initiatives provide invaluable support and assistance for school leavers.<br \/>\n\u201cAustralian school students in Years 10, 11 and 12 have shown unwavering resilience in the face of COVID-19 and they deserve the best possible support as they consider their next steps,\u201d Minister Cash said.<br \/>\n\u201cThese initiatives will help young people finishing school to find the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>education, training and employment options that best suit them, now and into the future.<br \/>\nThe Australian Government has invested $13.8 million in the Enhanced Support for School Leavers<i>\u00a0<\/i>measure.<br \/>\nAssistant Minister for Vocational Education, Training and Apprenticeships, the Hon Steve Irons MP, said the online kit and the information service complement the recently launched Australian Government careers website, Your Career.<br \/>\n\u201cI am pleased that these initiatives are available at such an important time to support our school leavers in taking their next step towards pursuing their career pathway in 2021,\u201d Assistant Minister Irons said.<br \/>\nThe School Leavers Information Kit\u00a0<i>Your Career: What\u2019s next for you?<\/i>\u00a0is available on the Your Career website at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.yourcareer.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YourCareer.gov.au<\/a><u>.<\/u><br \/>\nThe School Leavers Information Service is available by calling 1800 227 337or emailing\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:schoolleavers.nci@dese.gov.au\">schoolleavers.nci@dese.gov.au<\/a>.<br \/>\nFor more information about the work of the NCI, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nci.dese.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.nci.dese.gov.au<\/a><u>.<\/u><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new targeted support package for young people is helping to tackle the uncertainty around leaving school and choosing the right career pathway.
