{"id":8149,"date":"2020-09-12T04:02:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-12T04:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=8149"},"modified":"2020-09-12T04:02:00","modified_gmt":"2020-09-12T04:02:00","slug":"two-charged-after-attempting-to-cross-border-on-fraudulent-permit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2020\/09\/12\/two-charged-after-attempting-to-cross-border-on-fraudulent-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"Two charged after attempting to cross border on fraudulent permit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two men have been charged with drug offences after attempting to cross into NSW allegedly using a fraudulent permit.<br \/>\nAbout 7am today (Saturday 12 September 2020), police stopped a vehicle at the Albury border checkpoint as it attempted to enter NSW.<br \/>\nPolice spoke to the driver, a 39-year-old man, who produced a permit which stated he was entering NSW for a medical appointment.<br \/>\nThe passenger, a 38-year-old man, also produced a permit.<br \/>\nAfter speaking with the men, officers conducted a search of the vehicle where they located and seized a small amount of prohibited drugs, along with drug paraphernalia.<br \/>\nFurther checks revealed the driver\u2019s permit was fraudulent.<br \/>\nThe men were arrested and taken to Albury Police Station.<br \/>\nThe 39-year-old man was charged with drug possession, and breach of bail. He was also issued a penalty notice for attempting to enter on false information.<br \/>\nThe Wangaratta man was bail refused to appear in Wagga Wagga Bail Court tomorrow (<a dir=\"ltr\" href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/4\">Sunday 13 September 2020<\/a>).<br \/>\nThe 38-year-old was charged with three counts of drug possession, and possess a drug implement.
