{"id":7448,"date":"2020-07-27T05:43:41","date_gmt":"2020-07-27T05:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=7448"},"modified":"2020-07-27T05:43:41","modified_gmt":"2020-07-27T05:43:41","slug":"50000-grants-to-create-mentally-healthy-workplaces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2020\/07\/27\/50000-grants-to-create-mentally-healthy-workplaces\/","title":{"rendered":"$50,000 GRANTS TO CREATE MENTALLY HEALTHY WORKPLACES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Projects and initiatives that help support mental health recovery in the workplace could be eligible for a NSW Government grant worth up to $50,000.<br \/>\nMinister for Customer Service Victor Dominello said the Recovery Boost program, administered by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA), would fund projects that promote seeking assistance early, supporting an individual&#8217;s recovery and reducing stigma around mental health.<br \/>\n\u201cAlmost half of Australians will experience some form of mental health issue over their lifetime and workplaces can and should provide help and support,\u201d Mr Dominello said.<br \/>\n\u201cThese grants will give us a greater understanding of what works and how we can better empower workplaces to address mental health issues.\u201d<br \/>\nProjects must demonstrate that they meet at least one or more of Recovery Boost\u2019s funding principles of being sustainable, innovative and adoptable in the workplace.<br \/>\nMinister for Mental Health Bronnie Taylor urged more businesses to take up the annual program to support the mental health and wellbeing of staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.<br \/>\n\u201cChallenges associated with working from home, reduced hours, or even teleconferencing can place added stress on staff,\u201d Mrs Taylor said.<br \/>\n\u201cThis fantastic initiative will allow businesses to support staff to stay mentally well as they adapt to a working environment they may not be used to.\u201d<br \/>\nAustralian based organisations, including not- for-profit organisations, social enterprises, government agencies and individuals are eligible to apply.<br \/>\nExpressions of interest for the Recovery Boost Grant program are open until 6 August.<br \/>\nMore information can be found at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealthatwork.nsw.gov.au\/mentally-healthy-workplaces\/recover-at-work\/recovery-boost-$50,000-funding-program\">https:\/\/www.mentalhealthatwork.nsw.gov.au\/mentally-healthy-workplaces\/recover-at-work\/recovery-boost-$50,000-funding-program<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Projects and initiatives that help support mental health recovery in the workplace could be eligible for a NSW Government grant worth up to $50,000.
