Police are investigating a suspicious building fire at a fast food restaurant in the Hunter region.
\nAbout 3.30am today (Sunday 19 July 2020), emergency services were called to the business on Allandale road, Cessnock, following reports of a fire.
\nUpon arrival, an external playground and dining area was found to be well alight and the blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.
\nThe restaurant was closed at the time and no one was injured, however, the fire caused significant damage to the outdoor area and roof.
\nOfficers from Hunter Valley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire which is being treated as suspicious.
