{"id":5456,"date":"2020-03-14T05:10:33","date_gmt":"2020-03-14T05:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=5456"},"modified":"2020-03-14T05:10:33","modified_gmt":"2020-03-14T05:10:33","slug":"4-million-community-infrastructure-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2020\/03\/14\/4-million-community-infrastructure-boost\/","title":{"rendered":"$4 MILLION COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE BOOST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thirty-two community organisations\u00a0in NSW\u00a0have been awarded\u00a0more than\u00a0$4 million, to fund\u00a0local projects\u00a0that\u00a0build or\u00a0upgrade facilities across sport and recreation, arts and culture, disaster readiness and essential community infrastructure.<br \/>\nMinister for Customer Service Victor Dominello said\u00a0the NSW Government\u2019s Infrastructure Grants program\u00a0funds\u00a0important projects\u00a0across the state to support community organisations that work tirelessly to\u00a0create resilient, healthy and connected communities.<br \/>\n\u201cThe projects we\u2019re funding will boost\u00a0equity, social inclusion and\u00a0participation\u00a0\u2013 making a real difference in people\u2019s lives across NSW,\u201d\u00a0Mr Dominello said.<br \/>\n\u201cSince 2015, the NSW Government has funded over 380\u00a0community projects worth $58\u202fmillion under the Infrastructure Grants program.\u201d<br \/>\nThe program also targets\u00a0projects that\u00a0support\u00a0drought-affected communities and youth, mental health and domestic violence services\u00a0and, for the next round opening in March 2020, was expanded to accommodate bushfire impacted communities.<br \/>\nA significant number of grants in this round have been allocated to community organisations in bushfire impacted communities.<br \/>\nThe grants are made possible by the\u00a0Clubgrants\u00a0Category 3 Fund which re-invests profits from registered clubs\u2019 gaming machines into community infrastructure projects\u00a0across\u00a0three key areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arts\u00a0and\u00a0Culture;<\/li>\n<li>Disaster Readiness\u00a0and\u00a0Community Infrastructure; and<\/li>\n<li>Sport\u00a0and\u00a0Recreation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A new round of applications for funding opens\u00a0on 16 March 2020.
