{"id":5209,"date":"2020-02-22T00:33:18","date_gmt":"2020-02-22T00:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=5209"},"modified":"2020-02-22T00:33:18","modified_gmt":"2020-02-22T00:33:18","slug":"youth-projects-announced-to-grow-stronger-country-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2020\/02\/22\/youth-projects-announced-to-grow-stronger-country-communities\/","title":{"rendered":"YOUTH PROJECTS ANNOUNCED TO GROW STRONGER COUNTRY COMMUNITIES"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"s-page-header\">\n<div class=\"page-header-container\">\n<div class=\"page-header-content\">\n<div class=\"page-header-content-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page-title\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"page-header-utility-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"c-print-social-share\">\n<div class=\"share-control\">\n<div class=\"share-links\">Young people and communities across regional NSW are set to benefit from $100 million worth of grass-roots projects soon to get underway thanks to round three of the Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"s-text-block\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"c-text-block\">\nDeputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said more than 500 projects will be funded through the program with more than 250 projects dedicated to benefitting regional youth.<br \/>\n\u201cThe new projects include training facilities, sports facility redevelopments, playgrounds and accessibility upgrades, as well as programs that promote job readiness, support wellbeing and offer social activities,\u201d Mr Barilaro said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe drought and recent bush fires have had a devastating effect on regional NSW and to have $100 million worth of projects about to get underway will help boost morale at this difficult time.\u201d<br \/>\nMinister for Regional Youth Bronnie Taylor, and Member for Tamworth and Minister for Better Regulation Kevin Anderson today visited Tamworth Viaduct Park Youth Hub to announce $369,000 for a Youth Training Caf\u00e9, the first youth projects funded through the program.<br \/>\nMrs Taylor said the caf\u00e9 will help young locals be job ready by gaining valuable hospitality skills and experience, while also helping the caf\u00e9 earn revenue that will be spent on training more young people.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Youth Training Caf\u00e9 is a great example of the kind of projects that will help young people get work, support the local economy and making communities more vibrant and fun,\u201d Mrs Taylor said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Regional Youth Taskforce identified job readiness, digital accessibility, physical activity and wellbeing as some of the key issues that need to be addressed and I\u2019m proud we\u2019re delivering more than 250 projects that will do just that.\u201d<br \/>\nMr Anderson congratulated Tamworth Council on the Youth Training Caf\u00e9 project, which will be the 15th project for the electorate funded through the SCCF.<br \/>\n\u201cThis project is another way to keep local kids engaged and teach them new skills at the same time,\u201d Mr Anderson said.<br \/>\n\u201cThis project is just one of many projects in Tamworth that have benefitted from the SCCF \u2013 I look forward to announcing more in the near future.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the $1.7 billion Regional Growth Fund, which together with the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund is delivering once-in-a-generation infrastructure that generates opportunities, investment and jobs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Young people and communities across regional NSW are set to benefit from $100 million worth of grass-roots projects soon to get underway thanks to round three of the Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF).
