{"id":4558,"date":"2019-12-10T23:56:04","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T23:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=4558"},"modified":"2019-12-10T23:56:04","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T23:56:04","slug":"treasurer-to-provide-update-on-the-nsw-budget-at-half-yearly-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2019\/12\/10\/treasurer-to-provide-update-on-the-nsw-budget-at-half-yearly-review\/","title":{"rendered":"TREASURER TO PROVIDE UPDATE ON THE NSW BUDGET AT HALF-YEARLY REVIEW"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page-content\">\n<section class=\"s-text-block\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"c-text-block\">\nTreasurer Dominic Perrottet will deliver the NSW Half-Yearly Budget Review (HYR) on\u00a0<strong>Thursday, 12 December<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe HYR is an update on the State\u2019s finances and will be launched at a breakfast event hosted by the Australian Business Economists.<br \/>\nMr Perrottet said the Review will outline the continued strength of the NSW economy, bolstered by an ongoing boom in infrastructure and business investment across the State.<br \/>\n\u201cSix months ago we delivered another strong budget &#8211; but it\u2019s been a tough six months for people in NSW, with the drought pushing rural and regional communities to their limits and bushfires ravaging the State,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br \/>\n\u201cThese are issues that no amount of money can prevent but they demonstrate why it\u2019s so important for us to maintain a strong financial position, to enable us to provide vital support in times of extreme hardship.<br \/>\n\u201cWe remain firmly in surplus, our net debt position is the lowest of any state, and we have been able to continue making record investments in schools, hospitals and transport.\u201d<br \/>\nMr Perrottet said the NSW Government has also laid the groundwork for the next wave of economic and productivity reform.<br \/>\nThe Government has published a major Economic Blueprint, the Productivity Commissioner has released a discussion paper ahead of a Productivity White Paper and the Treasurer has established an eminent panel to conduct a Federal Financial Relations Review.<br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019re all about creating better opportunities for current and future generations and ensuring NSW remains the best place in the world for people to live and get ahead,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br \/>\nThe launch of the HYR will be followed by a\u00a0media\u00a0conference at\u00a0<strong>9:15am<\/strong>.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<section class=\"s-footer\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"footer-content\">\n<div class=\"footer-text\">\nAuthorised by Chris Stone\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Treasurer Dominic Perrottet will deliver the NSW Half-Yearly Budget Review (HYR) on\u00a0Thursday, 12 December.
