{"id":4453,"date":"2019-12-02T08:08:02","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T08:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=4453"},"modified":"2019-12-02T08:08:02","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T08:08:02","slug":"1bn-of-school-infrastructure-opened-in-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2019\/12\/02\/1bn-of-school-infrastructure-opened-in-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"$1BN OF SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE OPENED IN 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>2019 has been a major year of school infrastructure delivery across NSW with more than $1 billion of works completed by the NSW Government, including 42 schools new and upgraded schools.<br \/>\nPremier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell visited students at Cecil Hills Public School today to open a $16 million upgrade eight months ahead of schedule.<br \/>\nMs Berejiklian said Cecil Hills Public School is the latest to benefit from the NSW Government\u2019s historic $6.7 billion investment in school infrastructure over four years, and one of seven school projects to open early.<br \/>\n\u201cAs we\u2019ve shown this year, it\u2019s not just about investing historic amounts into building new schools,\u201d Ms Berejiklian said.<br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019re getting on with the job of turning those dollars into new and upgraded schools for communities right across the State. And it\u2019s very pleasing to see students and teachers moving into their new classrooms months ahead of schedule.\u201d<br \/>\nMs Mitchell said the NSW Government recognised the importance of investing in children\u2019s education, as well as ensuring students and teachers have great places in which to learn and teach.<br \/>\n&#8220;This year we have completed 42 school infrastructure projects, representing a $1 billion investment in future generations, delivering 679 new classrooms and other world-class facilities,&#8221; Ms Mitchell said.<br \/>\n\u201cWe will continue to work hard to deliver the very best for our schools, with more than $1.1 billion of infrastructure investment scheduled for next year.\u201d<br \/>\nOther school projects that are being delivered ahead of schedule in 2019 include:\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Oran Park Public School<\/li>\n<li>Terrigal Public School<\/li>\n<li>Queanbeyan East Public School<\/li>\n<li>Rutherford Public School<\/li>\n<li>Prestons Public School<\/li>\n<li>Coffs Harbour Public School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The NSW Government is investing $6.7 billion over the next four years to deliver more than 190 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2019 has been a major year of school infrastructure delivery across NSW with more than $1 billion of works completed by the NSW Government, including 42 schools new and upgraded schools.
