Mr Paul Anastassiou QC has been appointed as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia and will commence in the Melbourne Registry on 1\u00a0February\u00a02019.
\nMr Anastassiou graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Melbourne in 1982.\u00a0 He was admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1985.
\nHe began his career as a solicitor with Phillips Fox and Masel before being called to the Victorian Bar in 1987, and was appointed silk in 2002.
\nMr\u00a0Anastassiou has extensive experience in a wide range of complex commercial disputes, focusing on corporations’ matters and class actions.
\nMr\u00a0Anastassiou has also served in many leadership roles over his 30 year career at the Victorian Bar, including as President in 2016.
