A motorcyclist has been critically injured in a crash at Newcastle overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Lake and Croudace roads, Wallsend, shortly before 9.30pm (Friday 23 October 2026), and found a 32-year-old man suffering multiple injuries after his motorbike and a vehicle collided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was treated at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital where \u2013 police have been told \u2013 he has since undergone surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Initial inquiries indicate the motorcyclist was riding north, and a silver Hyundai Getz was being driven south, when the collision occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The driver of the hatchback left the scene before emergency personnel arrived; inquiries are underway to identify that driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
