{"id":40892,"date":"2026-09-21T01:16:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T15:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=40892"},"modified":"2026-09-21T01:16:00","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T15:16:00","slug":"appeal-to-locate-teenage-boy-reported-missing-from-cessnock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/09\/21\/appeal-to-locate-teenage-boy-reported-missing-from-cessnock\/","title":{"rendered":"Appeal to locate teenage boy reported missing from Cessnock"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy reported missing from the Hunter region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Xavier Needham, aged 14, was last seen in Cessnock about 2am on Saturday 19 September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When he could not be located, officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police and family hold concerns for his welfare due to his young age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Xavier is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150-155cm tall, of a medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was last seen wearing a black jumper and dark coloured shorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Xavier is known to frequent the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Redfern areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged to contact Cessnock Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy reported missing from the Hunter region.
