Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from the Newcastle area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sam Summut, aged 76, was last seen leaving a hospital on Lookout Road, New Lambton Heights, about 4.45pm today (Wednesday 26 August 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Newcastle City Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police and family hold concerns for Sam\u2019s welfare as he lives with a medical condition and his disappearance is out of character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build, with grey hair and an unshaven face. Sam is also nonverbal and speaks via a device in his throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark tracksuit pants, grey shoes and a black beanie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
