{"id":40334,"date":"2026-08-08T02:28:33","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T16:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=40334"},"modified":"2026-08-08T02:28:33","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T16:28:33","slug":"council-for-australian-arab-relations-grant-outcomes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/08\/08\/council-for-australian-arab-relations-grant-outcomes\/","title":{"rendered":"Council for Australian-Arab Relations Grant outcomes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today I announce the recipients of the 2026 Council for Australian-Arab Relations (CAAR) Grants Program, supporting ten projects that will strengthen Australia\u2019s economic, cultural and people-to-people links with the Middle East and North Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year&#8217;s grants advance cooperation in areas of shared priority, including climate and clean energy, health, sport, gender equality, and social cohesion, while building trust and connections across a region of growing strategic and economic importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the selected projects are initiatives that will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Expand healthcare access in Lebanon via Australian telehealth innovation and digital health workforce development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen the capacity of Saudi medical professionals to manage work-related illnesses and diseases through joint training programs and academic partnerships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhance preparedness for respiratory disease outbreaks using AI-driven forecasting of health and economic impacts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advance Australia-UAE marine conservation efforts through collaborative research, technology innovation, and expert exchange.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build animal disease surveillance and response capability in Oman with specialised epidemiology training for veterinarians.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, these projects showcase Australian expertise and deliver practical opportunities for collaboration and skills exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I congratulate this year&#8217;s recipients.
