Why the hell are taxpayers still funding the ABC when it permits and even defends this sort of vile behaviour?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s just the latest controversy to hit the heavily biassed and completely unaccountable ABC, giving more impetus to calls to defund the so-called \u2018national broadcaster\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One Nation\u2019s policy will withdraw taxpayer funding for the ABC\u2019s operations in large markets already saturated with media organisations across the political spectrum, while continuing to fund some of the ABC\u2019s operations in regional, rural and remote areas where there is a significantly reduced commercial media presence. If people in the cities want to consume ABC material, they\u2019ll have to pay a subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We expect this will save Australian taxpayers up to a billion dollars per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In days long past, the ABC used to set the benchmark in unbiased, objective news and current affairs. Somewhere along the line, things changed for the worse.
