{"id":39041,"date":"2026-05-22T11:21:57","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T01:21:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=39041"},"modified":"2026-05-22T11:21:57","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T01:21:57","slug":"two-men-charged-after-alleged-break-and-enter-hunter-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/05\/22\/two-men-charged-after-alleged-break-and-enter-hunter-valley\/","title":{"rendered":"Two men charged after alleged break and enter \u2013 Hunter Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two men have been charged after a property was broken into and equipment stolen in the Hunter Valley region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offciers attached to Hunter Valley Police District commenced an investigation after reports a property on Pembroke Road, Cassilis, was allegedly broken into and had over $100,000 with of equipment stolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alleged items stolen included two Honda quad bikes, fuel, power tools, cattle tags and drench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following inquiries, police located and seized a quadbike and box trailer on Aly Street, Kayuga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday 19 May 2026, a 27-year-old man was arrested at Muswellbrook Police Station, where he was charged with dispose motor vehicle part-theft=serious indictable offence more than $5000 and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was granted conditional bail to appear before Muswellbrook Local Court on Tuesday 14 July 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between 7.30am and 8.30am yesterday (Thursday 21 May 2026), investigators executed search warrants at homes in Muswellbrook and Aberdeen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the searches, officers allegedly located and seized power tools, trail cams, electronic devices, copper cabling, mobile phones, and farming equipment, believed to be stolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 46-year-old man was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where he was charged with,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>knowingly deal with proceeds of crime,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dispose motor vehicle part-theft=serious indictable offence more than $5000,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fail to provide adequate exercise to confined animal, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>passenger not disclose driver&#8217;s\/other passenger&#8217;s identity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was granted conditional bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 22 July 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inquiries continue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two men have been charged after a property was broken into and equipment stolen in the Hunter Valley region.
