{"id":39019,"date":"2026-05-20T04:41:53","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:41:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=39019"},"modified":"2026-05-20T04:41:53","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:41:53","slug":"call-for-regional-voices-to-help-shape-healthcare-across-nsw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/05\/20\/call-for-regional-voices-to-help-shape-healthcare-across-nsw\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for regional voices to help shape healthcare across NSW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>People passionate about improving healthcare in regional, rural and remote areas of NSW are invited to apply to join the Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressions of interest (EOIs) are now open due to the conclusion of the current Panel\u2019s three\u2011year term in July 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Panel is an independent advisory body that provides strategic advice to the Minister for Health and Regional Health, and the NSW Health Secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its role is to identify opportunities and solutions that improve healthcare access, outcomes and service delivery across hospitals and health support services in regional, rural and remote NSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Panel also plays an important role in strengthening community engagement and ensuring local perspectives inform the design and delivery of healthcare services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are encouraged from people who can represent the interests of regional communities, including Aboriginal people, and those who have knowledge, experience, or expertise in one\u202for more of the following areas, aligned with the NSW Government\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.nsw.gov.au\/regional\/Pages\/strategic-plan.aspx\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">priorities for regional, rural and remote health<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthening and supporting the regional health workforce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enabling better access to safe, high-quality, and timely health services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keeping people healthy and well through prevention, early intervention and education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keeping communities informed, building engagement and seeking feedback<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanding integration of primary, community, and hospital care across regional, rural and remote settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Harnessing and evaluating innovation, technology, and digital solutions to support a sustainable regional health system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Panel members may be appointed for a term of up to three years and will meet at least every three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, including how to apply, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.nsw.gov.au\/regional\/Pages\/expression-of-interest-advisory-panel.aspx\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EOI Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel<\/a>&nbsp;or contact&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:MOH-ODS-Regional@health.nsw.gov.au\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MOH-ODS-Regional@health.nsw.gov.au<\/a>.
