{"id":388,"date":"2018-11-07T05:22:14","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T05:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=388"},"modified":"2018-11-07T05:22:14","modified_gmt":"2018-11-07T05:22:14","slug":"aged-care-pricing-commissioner-annual-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2018\/11\/07\/aged-care-pricing-commissioner-annual-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Aged Care Pricing Commissioner Annual Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-area span9\">\n<div class=\"row-fluid title-meta\">\n<div class=\"span12\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"download\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.health.gov.au\/internet\/ministers\/publishing.nsf\/Content\/954A1C0159E9B586CA258336007CDA7D\/$File\/KW157.pdf\"><i class=\"icon-download-alt\"><\/i><strong>PDF printable version of\u00a0<em>Aged Care Pricing Commissioner Annual Report<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; PDF 268 KB<\/a><\/span><br \/>\nThe 2018 Aged Care Pricing Commissioner Annual Report has been released, providing information on trends over the past five years as well reporting on the Commissioner\u2019s performance during the 2017-18 financial year.<br \/>\nIn the past financial year the Commissioner received 539 applications, an increase of 85% on the previous year, and approved 386.<br \/>\nThis included 220 applications for the renewal of lapsing approvals made on or before 1 July 2014, as approvals are valid for a four year period.<br \/>\nThe role of the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner is to review proposed refundable accommodation deposits for entry into aged care homes that are higher than $550,000.<br \/>\nThe position of Commissioner was established to ensure that accommodation prices represent value for prospective aged care residents and that higher prices reflect the standard of accommodation rather than a resident\u2019s capacity to pay.<br \/>\nThe work of the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner contributes to the achievement of our Government\u2019s aged care reform agenda, particularly its objective to improve transparency in pricing in residential aged care facilities.<br \/>\nCommissioner John Dicer \u2013 who was appointed to the role in May &#8211; seeks to advocate and promote a collaborative approach with stakeholders to gain a broader view of the aged care industry.<br \/>\nHe is planning new industry working groups to help obtain feedback from the sector, and will continue regular visits to aged care facilities and actively seek real engagement with providers, peak bodies, Government and financial institutions.<br \/>\nThe report is available at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acpc.gov.au\/internet\/acpc\/publishing.nsf\/Content\/publications\">Aged Care Pricing Commissioner website<\/a>.\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PDF printable version of\u00a0Aged Care Pricing Commissioner Annual Report\u00a0&#8211; PDF 268 KB The 2018 Aged Care Pricing Commissioner Annual Report has been released, providing information on trends over the past five years as well reporting on the Commissioner\u2019s performance during the 2017-18 financial year.
