A man will face court after the body of a woman was found in the state\u2019s north.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just after 8pm yesterday (Saturday 18 April 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Merrigum Street, Windale, following reports of a concern for welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District arrived to find the body of woman \u2013 believed to be aged in her 40s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the woman; however, she could not be revived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has yet to be formally identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A crime scene has been established, and investigations have commenced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with murder (DV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
