{"id":37593,"date":"2026-02-24T08:49:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T21:49:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=37593"},"modified":"2026-02-24T08:49:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T21:49:38","slug":"free-wellbeing-workshops-for-rural-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/02\/24\/free-wellbeing-workshops-for-rural-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Free wellbeing workshops for rural women"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Women in eight regions in New South Wales will have access to practical wellbeing and self-care training with the launch of free Women\u2019s Wellbeing Workshops ahead of NSW Women\u2019s Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW Government is supporting regional and rural women\u2019s mental health with this partnership with Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP), especially in areas where access to such care can be harder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshops will discuss:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>stress and how it can\u00a0impact\u00a0rural women,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how women may manage and respond to stress,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>values and how they\u00a0impact\u00a0wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>self-care, assessing the effectiveness of strategies, and learning how to develop an action plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding of $10,000 for this program is through the Rural Women\u2019s Network, which works to support and empower regional, rural and remote women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RAMHP is a program that provides mental health education, with a focus on regional, rural and remote communities. Coordinators are regional, rural and remote people and understand the specific strengths, challenges and characteristics of rural life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one-day workshops will run in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wee Waa (1 March)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manilla (17 March)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finley (31 March)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mudgee (14 April)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yamba (28 April)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Narromine (12 May)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walcha (19 May)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Urana (4 June).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Register for the Women\u2019s Wellbeing Workshops here:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsw.gov.au\/departments-and-agencies\/women-nsw\/rural-womens-network\/rwn-events\/womens-wellbeing-workshops#toc-dates-and-locations\">https:\/\/www.nsw.gov.au\/departments-and-agencies\/women-nsw\/rural-womens-network\/rwn-events\/womens-wellbeing-workshops#toc-dates-and-locations<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These workshops complement the popular two-day Rural Women\u2019s Skills Roadshow, run in partnership with St John\u2019s Ambulance, that continue to make their way around the state. Registrations are still open for these workshops at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsw.gov.au\/departments-and-agencies\/women-nsw\/rural-womens-network\/rwn-events\/rural-womens-network-skills-roadshow-2026\">https:\/\/www.nsw.gov.au\/departments-and-agencies\/women-nsw\/rural-womens-network\/rwn-events\/rural-womens-network-skills-roadshow-2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Regional NSW Tara Moriarty said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMental health is an important and ongoing conversation across regional NSW where the stress of drought and other natural disasters can really take a toll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMental Health and wellbeing support services are a vital lifeline and these workshops, specifically tailored for women, can really make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey offer rural women the chance to pause, share experiences with others and focus on their own health and wellbeing. Something regional women rarely get the chance to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Women Jodie Harrison said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRegional and rural women play many different roles in their communities \u2013 as business-owners, farmers, carers and volunteers. Like many women, they are often selfless and put others ahead of themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut sometimes, the stresses can be overwhelming.
