A person has died following a house fire in the State\u2019s north yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 6.45pm (Friday 20 February 2026), emergency services were called to Bagnall Beach Road, Corlette, following reports of a fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended and extinguished the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A woman was found deceased inside the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is yet to be formally identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District have established a crime scene and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A report will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
