{"id":37027,"date":"2026-01-25T00:07:37","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T13:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=37027"},"modified":"2026-01-25T00:07:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-24T13:07:37","slug":"final-call-central-west-flood-recovery-grants-and-resilient-homes-expos-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/01\/25\/final-call-central-west-flood-recovery-grants-and-resilient-homes-expos-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Final call: Central West Flood Recovery Grants and Resilient Homes Expos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Flood-affected residents and local builders in the Central West are being urged to take action as the $40 million Resilient Homes Program enters its final application phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a deadline of 31 March 2026, the NSW Reconstruction Authority is hosting a series of local Expos to connect homeowners and construction professionals with funding and work opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible homeowners in Cabonne, Forbes, Lachlan, Parkes, and Euabalong can access grants of up to $100,000 for home raising or relocation, and up to $50,000 for retrofitting with flood-resilient materials. To support the local economy and ensure project delivery, the NSW Reconstruction Authority is also hosting dedicated Construction Information Sessions for builders, engineers, and tradespeople to learn about upcoming work opportunities funded by these grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Resilient Homes Expos provide a &#8220;one-stop shop&#8221; for residents to meet one-on-one with NSW Reconstruction Authority staff, local council representatives, SafeWork NSW, Building Commission NSW, industry experts, and local builders and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parkes: 28 Jan, 4pm\u20137pm | Parkes Services Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forbes: 25 Feb, 4pm\u20137pm | Club Forbes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eugowra: 25 March, 4pm\u20137pm | Eugowra Multipurpose Centre<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Register at:\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsw.gov.au\/departments-and-agencies\/nsw-reconstruction-authority\/our-work\/events\"><em>nsw.gov.au\/rhpevents<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking local trades\u2014including builders, certifiers, and designers\u2014to deliver grant-funded works. Informal sessions (no registration required) will be held at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parkes: 27 Jan, 4pm\u20135.30pm | Railway Hotel &amp; Hart Bar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forbes: 28 Jan, 7am\u20138.30am | Sylo Cafe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orange: 29 Jan, 5pm\u20136.30pm | The Greenhouse of Orange<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Recovery, Janelle Saffin said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;These Expos are about giving people practical tools to rebuild safer as well as local builders an opportunity to bring these projects to life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want every eligible household to access this $40 million pool of funding before the March deadline to ensure their homes are protected for the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Member for Orange, Phil Donato said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn the wake of the 2022 Central West floods, the Resilient Homes Program has played a key role in helping communities rebuild stronger and better prepared for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the program moves into its final phase, many households are now beginning to see the benefits, with resilience upgrades being delivered to affected properties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHomeowners who were impacted by the floods and have not yet applied for assistance are strongly encouraged to take action.
