Family First has renewed its call for the position of Sex Discrimination Commissioner \u2014 and the Australian Human Rights Commission along with its state-based equivalents \u2014 to be abolished following extraordinary comments<\/a> by Commissioner Dr Anna Cody during Senate Estimates this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Cody, who is paid more than $400,000 a year plus superannuation, told Liberal Senator Claire Chandler in Senate Estimates this week she did not \u201cunderstand the term biological man\u201d and that a male paedophile in a Victorian women\u2019s prison was a woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked if biological men could be women, Dr Cody replied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think we have different languages that perhaps you\u2019re using than I would use \u2026 I don\u2019t understand the term biological men.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about the high-profile case of a biological man housed in a Victorian women\u2019s prison for sexually abusing his five-year-old daughter, Dr Cody said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo the person who I believe you’re referring to is a trans woman.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family First said such remarks reveal an alarming ideological capture at the highest levels of taxpayer-funded \u201chuman rights\u201d bureaucracy which endanger the safety of girls and women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can a Sex Discrimination Commissioner not understand the biological categories that underpin the very Act she administers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the official charged with protecting women\u2019s rights refuses to acknowledge biological sex, then women and girls have no defender within the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the same hearing, Dr Cody claimed \u201cthere are a range of people who identify as women, who are women\u201d \u2014 including \u201ctrans women\u201d and \u201cnon-binary people\u201d \u2014 effectively erasing the distinction between biological women and men who identify as female.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family First said this position is a complete departure from common sense and reflects a dangerous ideology now being pushed through education, the media and public institutions by taxpayer-funded state and federal human rights commissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When powerful bureaucrats spread such lies, it puts enormous pressure on parents who simply want their children raised in truth and protected from confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parents want to know their daughters have safe single sex spaces and that their sport is fair <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families should not have to battle their own government to defend basic biological reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Party said Australia needs legislators with the courage to dismantle the taxpayer-funded industry which upholds radical LGBTIQA+ political ideology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is agendas like Dr Cody\u2019s \u2014 and the major parties\u2019 unwillingness to dismantle the taxpayer-funded institutions that enable them \u2014 that make Family First candidates essential in our Parliaments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
