{"id":34761,"date":"2025-09-07T18:51:48","date_gmt":"2025-09-07T08:51:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=34761"},"modified":"2025-09-07T18:51:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T08:51:48","slug":"nsw-all-abilities-team-wins-2025-marie-little-shield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/09\/07\/nsw-all-abilities-team-wins-2025-marie-little-shield\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW All Abilities Team Wins 2025 Marie Little Shield"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>The Netball NSW All Abilities Team has successfully defended its title at the 2025 Marie Little Shield, finishing the tournament unbeaten and closing out the weekend with a 13\u20139 win over Victoria in the grand final.<br><br>The final was a close contest, with both sides showing determination and skill in front of a supportive Brisbane crowd.<br><br>Head Coach Therri Ellison said she was proud of the way her team embraced the occasion.<br><br>\u201cThe final was such a great contest, and it was wonderful to see the athletes step up and enjoy the experience,\u201d Ellison said.<br><br>\u201cVictoria really pushed us, and that made for an exciting game to finish the tournament. Our team stayed connected, encouraged each other, and kept their focus right until the end.\u201d<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><a href=\"https:\/\/netballnsw.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=a61fdddc7216e646211550b26&amp;id=bb3cdec75c&amp;e=5dd905e812\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>Across the weekend, NSW met teams from every state and territory, with each match highlighting the spirit of inclusion and the joy of playing together.<br><br>NSW opened their campaign against ACT (46\u20130), followed by matches against Queensland (38\u20132) and Western Australia (27\u20136). They later met Northern Territory (47\u20131) and finished the rounds against South Australia (27\u201310).<br><br>Ellison said the event is about more than results.<br><br>\u201cThe best part of the weekend was seeing every team out there, enjoying their netball and supporting each other,\u201d she said.<br>\u201cEvery game had its own special moments, and our athletes loved being part of that.\u201d<br><br>For NSW, retaining the Shield was a proud moment, but Ellison emphasised the true value of the Marie Little Shield.<br><br>\u201cThis tournament is about connection, friendship, and celebrating ability,\u201d she said.<br><br>\u201cWe\u2019re grateful to all the teams, coaches, volunteers, and families who make this such a meaningful event.
