A man has been arrested after an incident in Lake Macquarie this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 9.50am today (Wednesday 20 August 2025), emergency services responded to reports that a man had been assaulted in the carpark of a shopping centre along the Pacific Highway, Charlestown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man \u2013 whose identity is currently unknown – died prior to the arrival of emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police were informed that another man was seen running south along the Pacific Highway shortly after the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shortly after 1pm a 53-year-old man was arrested when he attended Newcastle City Police Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
