A teenage girl has been arrested following a fatal stabbing in the states north overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 10.20pm (Monday 4 August 2025), emergency services were called to Euston Close, Edgeworth, following reports of a stabbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District attended and found a teenage girl with an injury to her torso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She later died from her injuries and is yet to be formally identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A teenage girl \u2013 who was known to the girl \u2013 was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with inquiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A crime scene has been established, which will be forensically examined by specialist officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An investigation is underway \u2013 assisted by the State Crime Commands Homicide Squad \u2013 into the circumstances surrounding the girl\u2019s death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
