{"id":33588,"date":"2025-07-07T14:14:03","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T04:14:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=33588"},"modified":"2025-07-07T14:14:03","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T04:14:03","slug":"designs-unveiled-for-newcastle-green-energy-precinct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/07\/07\/designs-unveiled-for-newcastle-green-energy-precinct\/","title":{"rendered":"DESIGNS UNVEILED FOR NEWCASTLE GREEN ENERGY PRECINCT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The final concept designs have been unveiled for the Port of Newcastle\u2019s Clean Energy Precinct, which will establish the Hunter region as an industry leader in Australia\u2019s transformation to net-zero.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Community members, prospective commercial partners and international investors attended a virtual-reality walk-through of the site today, where the future design of the precinct was brought to life.The Clean Energy Precinct will be located on a disused 220-hectare site on Kooragang Island, just north of Newcastle\u2019s CBD and straddling the south channel of the Hunter River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a $100 million investment from the Australian Government, the Port of Newcastle site will be transformed into a burgeoning industrial hub enabling the production, storage, distribution and export of clean energy products, including green hydrogen and ammonia.
