{"id":32729,"date":"2025-05-17T08:25:43","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T08:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=32729"},"modified":"2025-05-17T08:25:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T08:25:43","slug":"first-look-at-the-expanded-mount-druitt-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/05\/17\/first-look-at-the-expanded-mount-druitt-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"First look at the expanded Mount Druitt Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Mount Druitt community is being provided with their first look at plans for the expanded Mount Druitt Hospital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minns Labor Government is investing $120 million in the upgrade of Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals to provide expanded and contemporary acute medical and surgical capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will include 60 additional beds across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plans show the area for the planned upgrades, which will deliver modern health care facilities to service one of the country\u2019s fastest-growing communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mix of new and refurbished clinical areas and support spaces will form part of the redevelopment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Welcoming and culturally inclusive spaces for consumers, staff, and visitors will be central to the planning and design process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff, stakeholders and the community are invited to attend an information session at Mount Druitt Hospital to meet the project team and learn more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mount Druitt Hospital main entrance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thursday, 22 May 2025 at 9:00am-11:00am<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff, stakeholders, and the community will continue to be consulted as the project progresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planning and design will continue throughout 2025, with construction timeframes to be finalised as part of planning and once a builder has been appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Construction work will be carried out in stages to minimise disruption to clinical services, which will remain operational throughout the redevelopment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will build on the $700 million expansion of Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals completed in 2020 which has expanded capacity at both hospitals.
