{"id":32640,"date":"2025-05-10T09:32:23","date_gmt":"2025-05-10T09:32:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=32640"},"modified":"2025-05-10T09:38:57","modified_gmt":"2025-05-10T09:38:57","slug":"first-look-at-the-redeveloped-cowra-hospitals-new-inpatient-rooms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/05\/10\/first-look-at-the-redeveloped-cowra-hospitals-new-inpatient-rooms\/","title":{"rendered":"First look at the redeveloped Cowra Hospital\u2019s new inpatient rooms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An innovative prototype room of the new and enhanced inpatient rooms to be delivered as part of the $110.2 million Cowra Hospital Redevelopment has been unveiled, which is giving staff a hands-on opportunity to test out its features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring an ensuite bathroom, the planned colour scheme, and equipment staff will use when the redevelopment is complete, the prototype room lets staff experience the design, technology and functionality of the new hospital spaces, as construction for the project continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The redevelopment once complete, will include a mix of single and double inpatient rooms, including multiple single rooms with access to a balcony. All inpatient rooms will have ensuite bathrooms, as well as a lounge area for families and carers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The $110.2 million Cowra Hospital Redevelopment has been shaped by feedback from staff and the community throughout planning and design phase which has led to improved access, more onsite parking, new landscaped areas, and larger windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health services are continuing to operate during construction, with the new hospital on track for completion at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When complete, the new hospital building will provide a modern and purpose-built health facility for the region and will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200ban emergency department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a\u00a0general medical and surgery inpatient ward<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a\u00a0peri-operative service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a\u00a0maternity unit with a dedicated nursery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ambulatory care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a\u00a0dental clinic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>renal dialysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>oncology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community Health and Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the hospital\u2019s first CT scanner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Construction on the Cowra Hospital is well under way with work for the fa\u00e7ade, internal fit out, and landscaping progressing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on the project, visit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cowrahospitalredevelopment.health.nsw.gov.au\">https:\/\/www.cowrahospitalredevelopment.health.nsw.gov.au<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Regional Health, Ryan Park:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur rural and regional communities, including the community of Cowra, deserve purpose-built and modern facilities to meet their present and future health needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe feedback from the staff tours of the prototype room has already been extremely positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe hospital has been designed in close collaboration with the community to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NSW Government Spokesperson for Cootamundra, Stephen Lawrence MLC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great to see local staff and clinicians having the opportunity to test out and provide feedback on the enhanced inpatient rooms planned for the redevelopment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Cowra Hospital redevelopment will feature enhanced facilities that will significantly improve care and better support staff, patients and the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Cowra Hospital Redevelopment team is continuing to work with the community and hospital staff wherever possible to deliver a health facility tailored to the needs of the community it serves.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An innovative prototype room of the new and enhanced inpatient rooms to be delivered as part of the $110.2 million Cowra Hospital Redevelopment has been unveiled, which is giving staff a hands-on opportunity to test out its features.
