A woman has died following a crash near Newcastle earlier this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 1.30pm on Thursday 24 April 2025, emergency services were called to a showground on Cowper St, Stroud, following reports of a crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and found two women \u2013 aged 72 and 82 – had been struck by a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both women were treated at the scene before the 82-year-old woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 9.30pm on Friday 25 April 2025, police were notified the 82-year-old had died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The driver of the vehicle \u2013 a 68-year-old woman \u2013 was taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A report will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
