A man has been charged with firearms and property breaking offences following an investigation in the state\u2019s Hunter region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April 2025, detectives from the Rural Crime Prevention Team \u2013 Hunter Valley Police District under Strike Force Lucindale, was formed to investigate a series or break, enter and steal offences into rural properties in the Mount Royal and Rouchel areas between 20 February 2025 and 1 April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the items stolen were motor vehicles, farm utilities, motorbikes, firearms and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following inquiries, about 8.30am yesterday (Thursday 10 April 2025), detectives executed two search warrants at properties at Carrowbrook and Davis Creek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the items seized by police from both properties were eight unregistered firearms, including a bolt action rifle, a .22 calibre long rifle, a Boita rifle, a double barrel shotgun, a pump action shot gun, a 303 bolt action rifle, two antique guns and associated ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also located were two Polaris all-terrain vehicles, a Honda XRF motorcycle, a Yamaha peewee 50 motorbike, a red quad bike, a Nissan Patrol 4WD, a Nissan Patrol utility; swords, a box trailer and loading ramps, a surfboard, trail cameras and numerous other items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police arrested a 23-yar-old man at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was taken to Singleton Police Station where he was charged with 18 offences;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 steal motor vehicle (three counts),<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 break, enter and steal (four counts),<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 stealing,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 steal trailer,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 steal firearm or imitation firearm,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 possess unregistered firearm (three counts),<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 possess more than three unregistered firearms,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 possess ammunition without a permit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 not keep firearm safely,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 possess prohibited drug,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 supply prohibited drug and goods in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was refused bail to appear before Singleton Local Court today (Friday 11 April 2025), where bail was formally refused. He will re-appear before the same Court on Thursday 1 May 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
