{"id":30914,"date":"2025-01-16T12:58:43","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T12:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=30914"},"modified":"2025-01-16T12:58:43","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T12:58:43","slug":"ministry-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/01\/16\/ministry-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry changes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today I announce updates to the Cabinet and the Ministry, following the foreshadowed resignation of Bill Shorten MP as Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Minister for Government Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I intend to recommend to the Governor-General, Her Excellency Ms Sam Mostyn AC, that she make the following changes to the Ministry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Amanda Rishworth MP \u2013 to become the Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme<\/li><li>Senator Katy Gallagher \u2013 to become the Minister for Government Services<\/li><li>Dr Anne Aly MP \u2013 to become the Minister Assisting the Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I once again pay tribute to Bill Shorten for his decades of service and the tangible positive difference he\u2019s made to the lives of Australians all over the country and to the NDIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These positions will be in addition to the ministerial responsibilities already held by Ministers Rishworth, Gallagher and Aly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the above changes, Anika Wells MP, Minister for Aged Care and Minister for Sport, has been promoted to the Cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am proud to lead a strong, united and stable cabinet government focussed on delivering for Australians now, while building Australia\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to occur at Government House, Canberra, on Monday, 20 January 2025, at 9.30am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I announce updates to the Cabinet and the Ministry, following the foreshadowed resignation of Bill Shorten MP as Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Minister for Government Services.
