{"id":30572,"date":"2024-12-12T05:10:35","date_gmt":"2024-12-12T05:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=30572"},"modified":"2024-12-12T05:10:35","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T05:10:35","slug":"4-25-million-grants-for-community-led-programs-to-prevent-domestic-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/12\/12\/4-25-million-grants-for-community-led-programs-to-prevent-domestic-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"$4.25 million grants for community-led programs to prevent domestic violence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Minns Labor Government is continuing to invest in meaningful action to prevent domestic and family violence, today opening expressions of interest for community-led primary prevention initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to $4.25 million in grant funding is on offer to local organisations statewide, including regional and rural, for proposals that address the drivers of domestic, family and sexual violence in our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals that align with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dcj.nsw.gov.au\/documents\/service-providers\/supporting-family-domestic-sexual-violence-services\/pathways-to-prevention-nsw-dfsv-primary-prevention-stategy-2024-to-2028.pdf\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pathways to Prevention<\/a>&nbsp;strategy will be given priority consideration, including gender-based violence prevention programs that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Focus on high-impact settings such as schools, workplaces and sporting clubs<\/li><li>Engage men and boys in prevention initiatives<\/li><li>Align with the \u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ourwatch.org.au\/change-the-story\/change-the-story-framework\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Change the Story<\/a>\u2019 framework, including related frameworks \u2018Changing the Picture\u2019, \u2018Changing the Landscape\u2019 and \u2018Pride in Prevention\u2019<\/li><li>Support LGBTQIA+ communities through inclusive programming<\/li><li>Support migrant and refugee communities<\/li><li>Explore innovative approaches, including the use of digital spaces such as social media.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful projects will run over a three-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the EOI, eligible organisations will be invited to submit detailed proposals for funding consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full grant application process for the Primary Prevention Multi-Year Partnership Grants Program will be run in early 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW Government has committed $38 million over four years to roll out the state\u2019s first dedicated primary prevention strategy, to partner with local organisations on addressing the drivers of domestic, family and sexual violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information and to apply, go to:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dcj.nsw.gov.au\/service-providers\/grants\/grants-open\/nsw-primary-prevention-multi-year-partnerships-grant-program.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/dcj.nsw.gov.au\/service-providers\/grants\/grants-open\/nsw-primary-prevention-multi-year-partnerships-grant-program.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Jodie Harrison said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cViolence against women and girls can and must be prevented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur government\u2019s first dedicated primary prevention strategy provides a roadmap of the work we need to do to address the drivers of violence against women and stop the violence before it starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to partner with local organisations and the community on programs that disrupt the drivers of gendered violence, promote healthy and respectful relationships, and change attitudes towards women.
