education celebrated at state\u2019s top awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>NSW\u2019s top international students, education providers, businesses and community groups have been named and celebrated at the prestigious 2024 NSW International Education Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards, now in their 11th year, recognise the success and contributions of international students across NSW and celebrate organisations for their outstanding support for international education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two types of awards were presented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW International Student of the Year Awards recognise the contributions made by individual students to their education and broader community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners across three categories were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Schools \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Minh Thiem (Evelyn) Lieu from Vietnam, studying at Canley Vale High School.<\/li><li><strong>Vocational Education and Training (VET) and English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS)<\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Cristina Gabriela Tacuri Garcia from Ecuador, studying at Greenwich College.<\/li><li><strong>Higher Education \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Aradhana Grover from India, studying at The University of Newcastle.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The NSW International Education Industry Awards&nbsp;<\/strong>recognise the contributions of education providers and organisations that support international students through programs and initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners across two categories were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Education Provider \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;UNSW Sydney Water Safety Program<\/li><li><strong>Partnership Excellence \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Redfern Legal Centre International Student Legal Service NSW<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Winners were announced on Wednesday night at an awards ceremony held at the Museum of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInternational education showcases Australia as an attractive destination, and NSW is the nation\u2019s leading exporter of education services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NSW International Student of the Year, Higher Education Winner Aradhana Grover said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeing recognised for this award fills me with immense joy and gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWinning this award is a personal honour but also a reflection of the meaningful connections we can foster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a reminder of the importance of our collective efforts to uplift each other and drive positive change, reinforcing the belief that every act of kindness makes a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis award also recognises the dedication and passion that international students contribute to communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAwards like this are important because they celebrate the diverse contributions of international students, highlighting their unique perspectives and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese awards create a platform for sharing the stories and accomplishments of international students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NSW International Education Industry Awards, Partnership Excellence Winner Sean Stimson, Redfern Legal Centre
