{"id":29795,"date":"2024-10-28T04:41:51","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T04:41:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=29795"},"modified":"2024-10-28T04:41:51","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T04:41:51","slug":"major-milestone-uplifts-tuggerah-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/10\/28\/major-milestone-uplifts-tuggerah-station\/","title":{"rendered":"Major milestone uplifts Tuggerah Station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tuggerah Station\u2019s accessibility upgrade has marked a significant milestone with newly-installed lifts open to the public today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lifts are part of $547.5m 2024-2025 NSW Budget funding over four years to continue to deliver and develop station accessibility upgrade projects around the state, in turn a part of the $800 million Safe Accessible Transport program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening of the lifts, which will provide access to the new footbridge and concourse, will allow for the demolition of the old ramps and pedestrian footbridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lifts are a key milestone in the ongoing $40 million Tuggerah Station upgrade due for completion in mid-2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The upgrade will also feature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>New and extended canopies at station platform<\/li><li>A family accessible toilet and ambulant toilets<\/li><li>A widened platform around the entrance and installation of the Boarding Assistance Zone for improved customer accessibility<\/li><li>Upgraded station entrances, including new and improved footpaths<\/li><li>New public restrooms<\/li><li>Revamped station manager\u2019s offices and station entrances<\/li><li>Fifteen accessible parking spaces in the commuter car park<\/li><li>Upgraded bus stops and facility for private to pick up and drop off passengers easily with a dedicated drop off zone<\/li><li>Improvements to CCTV, lighting and wayfinding signage.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Transport for NSW will continue to keep the community informed as the project progresses.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about the program, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.transport.nsw.gov.au\/projects\/programs\/safe-accessible-transport-program\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">transport.nsw.gov.au\/projects\/programs\/safe-accessible-transport-program<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Transport Jo Haylen said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPublic Transport should be safe and accessible places for everyone.
