A police officer has been charged over the alleged assault of two boys in the state\u2019s west.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday 22 June 2024, the off-duty officer \u2013 an inspector attached to Western Region \u2013 is alleged to have assaulted two 11-year-old boys on a bus between Coolah and Walgett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following an investigation, the officer was today (Friday 6 September 2024) issued a future court attendance notice for two counts of common assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 23 October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
