The Awards program recognises, supports and promotes innovation in the provision of quality care, patient experience and clinical care, while providing an opportunity for the workforce to connect, learn and celebrate achievements together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2024 Awards were presented across 18 different team, project and individual categories, following the District\u2019s annual symposium which featured presentations from all the categories\u2019 finalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Symposium also provided an opportunity for attendees to vote for the People\u2019s Choice Award, while the Chief Executive\u2019s Award and the Board Choice\u2019s Award have also been presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2024 WNSWLHD Award recipients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Staff Member of the Year Award:&nbsp;<\/strong>Jasmin Jones (Registered Nurse, Grenfell Multipurpose Service) and Tammy Jones (Support Services Manager, Narromine Health Service)<\/li><li><strong>Volunteer of the Year Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Elizabeth Allen (Dubbo)<\/li><li><strong>Chief Executive\u2019s Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Circular recycling program Orange<\/li><li><strong>Board\u2019s Choice Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;First experience, lasting impression &#8211; Paediatric clothing pool Dubbo<\/li><li><strong>People\u2019s Choice Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Occupational Therapy in the Emergency Department<\/li><li><strong>Senior Leader of the Year:<\/strong>&nbsp;Jo Lemmich (WNSWLHD Patient Safety Manager)<\/li><li><strong>Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) Rural Innovation Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Public Health Analytics Dashboard<\/li><li><strong>Excellence in Aboriginal Healthcare Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Right time, Right place: Innovative collaboration to connect women from Western NSW to world-class cancer treatment<\/li><li><strong>Health Innovation Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Scan \u2013 Reuse \u2013 Reduce<\/li><li><strong>Inspiring Teams Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Mudgee Health Service, food service team<\/li><li><strong>Keeping People Healthy Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Cervical screening during pregnancy Dubbo<\/li><li><strong>Excellence in the Provision of Mental Health Services Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Tuning in to kids<\/li><li><strong>Transforming Patient Experience Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Oral health waiting list reform<\/li><li><strong>Patient Safety First Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Changing the slippery slope of deteriorating patients<\/li><li><strong>People and Culture Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Allied Health Rural Graduate Program<\/li><li><strong>Health Research Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Intrapleural fibrinolytic therapy in regional NSW hospital<\/li><li><strong>Excellence in the Provision of Multicultural Healthcare Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Arogya: Co-designing solutions to healthcare disparities in Dubbo\u2019s migrant community<\/li><li><strong>Environmental Sustainability Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;Excess PPE Management Success<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>More information, including profiles of all Award recipients and finalists, is available on the WNSWLHD website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWestern NSW is unique as a Local Health District, and with a huge geographic footprint which includes some of the most remote towns and most vulnerable populations in the state, the workforce faces different challenges every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHowever, our dedicated staff continue to rise to those challenges and provide innovative, world-class care to the people of western NSW, doing so with incredible drive and commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Labor Spokesperson for Dubbo Stephen Lawrence MLC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese awards are an opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions these special individuals give to our health system all over western NSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI wholeheartedly congratulate all of Western NSW Local Health District\u2019s Award recipients and finalists who are thoroughly deserving of this recognition, and I also want to thank the entire workforce for their ongoing dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WNSWLHD Chief Executive Mark Spittal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEvery year this event allows us to see and appreciate the amazing work our staff do right across our District.
