A man has been charged following an unauthorised protest in Newcastle overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 6.45pm (Friday 28 June 2024), police were called to the rail corridor at Sandgate following reports a number of people had allegedly entered the rail corridor and stopped an eastbound train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District, with assistance from Police Rescue, attended the site and arrested a 59-year-old man who allegedly climbed into an open carriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
