{"id":26926,"date":"2024-05-30T14:31:02","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T14:31:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=26926"},"modified":"2024-05-30T14:31:02","modified_gmt":"2024-05-30T14:31:02","slug":"nsw-unveils-plan-to-support-wine-exporters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/05\/30\/nsw-unveils-plan-to-support-wine-exporters\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW unveils plan to support wine exporters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The NSW Government has unveiled a plan to boost wine exports and create new jobs and opportunities for people in NSW.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From July Investment NSW will kick off a targeted 12 month program of initiatives to bring international buyers to NSW and make it easier for local wine makers to take their products to markets around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will be available to producers of NSW\u2019s $420 million wine exports looking to re-enter the newly reopened Chinese market but will also support exporters in key emerging markets including India, Japan and Vietnam.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW Government is focusing its efforts on the markets with the highest value and highest potential for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2024\/25 export program includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A NSW Wine Promotional Roadshow in China reintroducing the NSW wine industry to importers and distributors across Shanghai and Shenzhen<\/li><li>Going Global Export Programs focused on beverages to China, UK, Korea, Japan and Vietnam<\/li><li>Export Capability Building workshops in the Central West, Hunter &amp; New England and Riverina regions<\/li><li>Cellar Door to China in One Click &#8211; \u2018How to\u2018 program<\/li><li>China and South East Asia Inbound Buyer Missions to NSW<\/li><li>Supporting export ready NSW wineries through trade missions that culminate in ProWine Mumbai 2024 and Expo 2025 Osaka<\/li><li>An e-commerce campaign to support existing distributors of NSW wine in the Japan market<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The value of goods and services exported from NSW to the world topped $150 billion, contributing 19 per cent to NSW\u2019s $777 billion Gross State Product last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With renewed focus and a better targeted trade program, NSW is on track to reach trade worth more than $200 billion by 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To find out more about exporting from NSW and the support available, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investment.nsw.gov.au\/export\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.investment.nsw.gov.au\/export\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Industry and Trade Anoulack Chanthivong said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur state has the best products in the world, and global markets are willing to pay a premium that flows back to NSW in new and better jobs and higher incomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delivering smarter trade policy that focusses on key markets and sectors that can deliver for people in NSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe state\u2019s wine industry helps employ around 50,000 people and we believe they can do even more with help accessing expanding markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI recently sat down with NSW Wine and wine makers in Orange to listen to their challenges and discuss how we can work together to grow exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe know that visibility of export programs and initiatives over a longer term horizon is important for wineries to plan and target international markets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NSW Wine President Mark Bourne said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe NSW wine industry, particularly our exporters, have been facing significant challenges recently.
