Greens climate and energy spokesperson Adam Bandt MP has welcomed the UK Parliament\u2019s declaration of a climate and environment emergency. Mr Bandt said the Greens would seek to move and pass a similar motion as soon as possible in the new Parliament after the election.
\n\u201cThe UK Parliament has recognised the world is facing an existential climate crisis and that we all need to act urgently,\u201d Mr Bandt said.
\n\u201cI will seek to move a similar motion to the UK and have a state of climate emergency declared here as soon as the new Parliament returns after the election.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s time to act as if our house is on fire, because it is.
