{"id":24985,"date":"2024-01-30T12:40:16","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T12:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=24985"},"modified":"2024-01-30T12:40:16","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T12:40:16","slug":"nsw-womens-week-2024-to-inspire-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/01\/30\/nsw-womens-week-2024-to-inspire-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW Women\u2019s Week 2024 to inspire inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 2024 NSW Women\u2019s Week series of events, set to kick off from Monday 4 March to Sunday 10<br>March, will focus on inclusivity and celebrating the achievements of women across NSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by the NSW Government, this year\u2019s events will showcase the remarkable stories and accomplishments of women from diverse backgrounds, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>regional\/rural\/remote NSW<\/li><li>LGBTIQA+<\/li><li>Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander<\/li><li>living with disability<\/li><li>culturally and linguistically diverse.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW Women\u2019s Week grants program provided 16 organisations with a share of $300,000 in government funding for activities that celebrate, connect, and pay tribute to the state\u2019s women and<br>girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The week-long celebration will culminate with the announcement of the winners of the NSW Women of the Year Awards 2024 at a ceremony on Thursday 7 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsw.gov.au\/women-nsw\/awards-and-events\/womens-week\">Find out more about NSW Women\u2019s Week 2024 and register for an event.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NSW Premier Chris Minns said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNSW Women\u2019s Week is a time to bring communities together to work towards gender equality and inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe week is all about shining the spotlight on the women and girls whose determination, bravery, skill and passion should be celebrated and shared, inspiring others to achieve great things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAdvancing gender equality in NSW is a key priority for my government which we highlighted in the 2023-24 Budget \u2013 from creating economic opportunities through participation and empowerment, to providing essential healthcare and appropriate support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI look forward to seeing the exciting line up of NSW Women\u2019s Week events unfold and meeting the remarkable women and girls nominated for the Women of the Year Awards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minister for Women Jodie Harrison said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNSW Women\u2019s Week is a time to celebrate women and girls in NSW, their contributions to our families and communities, their strengths and achievements in social, cultural and political life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur Women\u2019s Week events focus on supporting accessibility and activities that reflect the diversity of our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn particular, we wanted to make sure the events aligned with the objectives of the NSW Women\u2019s Strategy which is to help improve the economic, social and physical wellbeing of women and girls across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNSW Women\u2019s Week is a great opportunity to get together to share knowledge and work towards gender equality, and inspire the next generation of leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is something for women of all ages and backgrounds, and I encourage you to find out what is happening in your community this NSW Women\u2019s Week and get involved.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2024 NSW Women\u2019s Week series of events, set to kick off from Monday 4 March to Sunday 10March, will focus on inclusivity and celebrating the achievements of women across NSW.
