{"id":24878,"date":"2024-01-23T05:16:22","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T05:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=24878"},"modified":"2024-01-23T05:16:22","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T05:16:22","slug":"minns-has-no-ideas-for-western-sydney-infrastructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/01\/23\/minns-has-no-ideas-for-western-sydney-infrastructure\/","title":{"rendered":"Minns has no ideas for Western Sydney Infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The NSW Opposition is calling out Premier Chris Minns spin on the delivery of transport infrastructure in Western Sydney.<br>&nbsp;<br>The former Liberal and Nationals Government together with the Coalition Federal Government invested over $15 billion to build the future transport infrastructure for the Western Sydney Airport and Aerotropolis including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Projects<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Total Investment<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Sydney Metro \u2013 Western Sydney Airport<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>$11 billion<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>M12<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>$2 billion<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>The Northern Road<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>$1.6 billion<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Bringelly Road<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>$500 million<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Elizabeth Drive Upgrade<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>$200 million<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Werrington Arterial Road Upgrade<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>$52 million<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While Chris Minns takes the credit for the former Government\u2019s investment, Labor\u2019s own budget[1] reveals the transport and infrastructure capital spend is forecast to drop by 25% in four years.<br>&nbsp;<br>The Opposition is also calling out Chris Minns\u2019 claim of $600 million in road investment over the next five years, asking if it\u2019s an appropriate level of funding:<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What portion of the $600 million is for delivery and\/or planning funding?<\/li><li>Is the $600 million a new allocation of funding from the Labor\u2019s first budget or is the funding provided by the former Government\u2019s final budget?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<br>Shadow Minister for Transport Natalie Ward commented \u201cI don\u2019t know how Chris Minns plans to deliver transport infrastructure with a cut of 25% in overall funding in the future.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cChris Minns is all complaints and no responsibility, in order to deliver the positive future Western Sydney deserves you need to invest in its future.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cIt is easy to claim credit for infrastructure projects you don\u2019t have to plan, fund and start delivery on, what is difficult is managing the NSW Budget in order to be able to consistently fund infrastructure investment.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cThe Government needs to stop the spin and actually outline and commit to which roads in the region are on their infrastructure priority list, no answers can only mean no investment.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NSW Opposition is calling out Premier Chris Minns spin on the delivery of transport infrastructure in Western Sydney.&nbsp;The former Liberal and Nationals Government together with the Coalition Federal Government invested over $15 billion to build the future transport infrastructure for the Western Sydney Airport and Aerotropolis including: Projects Total Investment Sydney Metro \u2013 Western &hellip;
