{"id":24844,"date":"2024-01-18T21:11:21","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T21:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=24844"},"modified":"2024-01-18T21:11:21","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T21:11:21","slug":"premier-chris-minns-fails-his-biggest-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2024\/01\/18\/premier-chris-minns-fails-his-biggest-test\/","title":{"rendered":"Premier Chris Minns fails his biggest test"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Premier Chris Minns has failed his biggest test, admitting only two weeks into the New Year that the NSW Labor Government won\u2019t meet its housing targets in 2024 and won\u2019t even commit to meeting them in the following years..<br>\u00a0<br>Leader of the Opposition Mark Speakman said it was evident that from the outset that the Minns Labor Government wasn\u2019t interested in working constructively with local councils or engaging with communities to engineer housing solutions that best meet local needs.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThis embarrassing acknowledgment that NSW won\u2019t reach his targets, agreed to only last August, is a result of Chris Minns\u2019 back-of-the-envelope approach to addressing the ongoing rental and housing affordability crisis that is affecting people right across NSW,\u201d Mr Speakman said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cChris Minns and his Government rode roughshod over local communities, proposing rezonings with no consultation and next to no detail.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cNow he admits that his approach isn\u2019t working.
