HSC results will today be delivered to the outgoing NSW Class of 2023 as the Higher School Certificate officially comes to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some 67,234 students completed their HSC this year, with 55,519 students now eligible to receive an ATAR, and another 20,000 leaving school with a vocational qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 12% of this year\u2019s HSC results are in the top performance band and 72% of results are in the top three bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For more than 67,000 students today marks the end of 13 years of school, and the successful completion of their schooling careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finishing school and receiving HSC results can bring mixed emotions for some, and students and families are urged to remember that there are many pathways to a successful future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This comes after 128 students were celebrated on Wednesday for achieving first place in a HSC course, and today 18,516 students are being recognised for their outstanding achievement in their studies as they are placed on the state\u2019s Merit Lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some 1420 students were also recognised on the \u201cAll Round Achievers\u201d list for gaining results in the highest possible band across 10 units of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another 780 students were featured on the Top Achievers list for earning 1 of the top places and a result in the highest band, and 18,516 students received at least one band six result, earning them a place on the \u2018Distinguished Achievers\u2019 list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visit the NESA website to view the 2023 HSC Merit Lists<\/a> from 12pm today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Premier of NSW Chris Minns said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is an important milestone for the Class of 2023, who today finish their schooling and move on to the next chapter of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhether or not today\u2019s results are what you wanted \u2013 remember that this is just a step on your journey and there are many pathways to success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want to say a huge well done to 67,234 students who have worked hard to get to this point and I wish them all the success in their futures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cToday is a massive day for the Class of 2023, and I want to congratulate every student finishing Year 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want to wish every student the very best for what comes next \u2013 whether that be heading off to university or furthering your training in a trade or a new job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI also want to say thank you to all the teachers, support staff, parents and family members who helped our students along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe hard work is now over, and I know students and their families will be celebrating the culmination of many years of dedication and effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cToday is a day to enjoy what you have accomplished.
