Four months by distance, 4 months at the academy.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>They will now have 12 months on the job training as a probationary constable.<br>&nbsp;<br>Communities across NSW will see the new boots on the ground on Monday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Central Metropolitan Region \u2013 53<\/li><li>Northwest Metropolitan Region \u2013 39<\/li><li>Southwest Metropolitan Region \u2013 33<\/li><li>Northern Region \u2013 24<\/li><li>Southern Region \u2013 17<\/li><li>Western Region \u2013 13.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley welcomed the new officers to the force and reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to rebuild and support our frontline services.<br>&nbsp;<br>Minister Catley and NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb officially opened 3 new accommodation blocks which provide modern, clean and comfortable facilities for the student police officers.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>In October, the Minns Labor Government made the historic announcement that student police officers will be paid to study at the Goulburn Police Academy.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Class 360 is the first cohort to receive a one-off payment, the amount of which was pro-rated to the date of the announcement.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>From March 2024, student police officers will be employed as clerk grade 1\/2 administrative employees on a temporary fixed term contact.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>They\u2019ll receive a total salary of approximately $30,984 over the 16-week study period, including super and award-based allowances.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.police.nsw.gov.au\/recruitment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply online to become a police officerlaunch<\/a><br>&nbsp;<br><strong>NSW Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley said:<\/strong><br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cI wish every one of the 179 Attesting Officers a long, rich and rewarding career in the NSW Police Force \u2013 the best Police Force in the world.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cEach of these officers have displayed an unwavering commitment to make a difference to the people of NSW.
