{"id":2347,"date":"2019-04-17T20:35:25","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=2347"},"modified":"2019-04-17T20:35:25","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:35:25","slug":"bmx-rider-cyclist-receives-sanction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2019\/04\/17\/bmx-rider-cyclist-receives-sanction\/","title":{"rendered":"BMX rider\/cyclist receives sanction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ds-1col node node-news-article view-mode-full clearfix\">\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\nThe Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) today acknowledged the decision of\u00a0BMX Australia and Cycling Australia\u00a0to impose a four-year ban on athlete Matthew Juster for the presence and use of prohibited substances.<br \/>\nMr Juster returned an Adverse Analytical Finding from an Out-of-Competition Doping Control Test\u00a0on 18 September 2017.<br \/>\nHis sample was analysed at the Australian Sports Drug Testing Laboratory, part of the National Measurement Institute, which detected the presence of\u00a0Exogenous Testosterone, Androsterone, Etiocholanolone and 5\u03b2-androstane-3\u03b1,17\u03b2-diol.<br \/>\nMr Juster used a Prohibited Substance, namely Testosterone, on and\/or before 18 September 2017.<br \/>\nUnder category S1 of the World Anti-Doping Code Prohibited List 2017,\u00a0Exogenous\u00a0Testosterone, Androsterone, Etiocholanolone, and 5\u03b2-androstane-3\u03b1,17\u03b2-diol are anabolic agents prohibited both in-and out-of-competition.<br \/>\nAnabolic agents pose many threats to an athlete\u2019s health and some side effects may include an\u00a0increase in blood pressure and cholesterol levels which can lead to heart disease. Liver disease\u00a0and infertility can also result from the use of these agents.<br \/>\nMr Juster is ineligible to participate in any sports that have adopted a World Anti-Doping Code compliant anti-doping policy until\u00a021 December 2021. He is also not permitted to compete in a non-Signatory professional league or Event organised by a non-Signatory event organisation.<br \/>\nASADA is committed to protecting the rights of clean athletes to fair competition.
