{"id":22900,"date":"2023-09-15T13:19:31","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T13:19:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=22900"},"modified":"2023-09-15T13:19:31","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T13:19:31","slug":"nsw-faith-affairs-council-now-open-for-nominations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2023\/09\/15\/nsw-faith-affairs-council-now-open-for-nominations\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW Faith Affairs Council now open for nominations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Minns government is delivering on its commitment to establish a NSW Faith Affairs Council to improve our government programs, policies and services with our multi-faith communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 16-member council will assist the NSW Government by identifying opportunities for greater collaboration between government and religious communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The council\u2019s membership will reflect the religious diversity of NSW, with representatives from both larger and smaller religious communities to be included on the 16-member council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominations will be assessed, and members appointed on the candidate\u2019s ability for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Demonstrated respect, influence and status within their respective religious communities or relevant specialised field.<\/li><li>Demonstrated commitment to inter-faith cooperation, inclusion and diversity, and the multicultural principles.<\/li><li>Demonstrated understanding of NSW Government policy issues that affect a range of religious communities.<\/li><li>Endorsement by their respective religious organisations.<\/li><li>Endorsement by at least 2 religious organisations from other religious communities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Invitations to apply for the NSW Faith Affairs Council have been sent to more than 260 religious community stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Council members will have an initial 12-month term, with the opportunity for reappointment for a maximum of up to 4 years.
