{"id":2288,"date":"2019-04-15T14:57:05","date_gmt":"2019-04-15T14:57:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=2288"},"modified":"2019-04-15T14:57:05","modified_gmt":"2019-04-15T14:57:05","slug":"morrisons-2-8-billion-cut-to-public-hospitals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2019\/04\/15\/morrisons-2-8-billion-cut-to-public-hospitals\/","title":{"rendered":"MORRISON\u2019S $2.8 BILLION CUT TO PUBLIC HOSPITALS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"headline\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"content\">\n<div id=\"intro\" class=\"intro\">\n<div class=\"content\">\nEvery patient in every hospital across the country will be better off under Labor\u2019s plan to restore the $2.8 billion in funding that Scott Morrison is cutting from public hospitals.<br \/>\nAs Treasurer, Scott Morrison cut $715 million from Australia\u2019s hospitals \u2013 cutting hospital beds, cutting healthcare workers, and blowing out hospital waiting lists.<br \/>\nNow as Prime Minister, Scott Morrison is planning to cut another $2.8 billion from public hospitals if he wins the next election.<br \/>\nFigures released today show that the Liberals and Nationals will continue their cuts for the next six years. By ripping up Labor\u2019s 50-50 funding agreement between the Commonwealth and the states, public hospitals will lose $2.8 billion from now until 2025.<br \/>\nCutting $2.8 billion from our public hospitals is equivalent to cutting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,931 doctors\u00a0<u>a year\u00a0<\/u>for six years; or<\/li>\n<li>3,959 nurses\u00a0<u>a year<\/u>\u00a0for six years; or<\/li>\n<li>695 hospital beds\u00a0<u>a year<\/u>\u00a0for six years; or<\/li>\n<li>108,284 knee replacements; or<\/li>\n<li>782,283 cataract surgeries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Liberals and Nationals\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alp.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=942ebc4c1cf8fc522a4f4c50e&amp;id=acf9d8a81a&amp;e=551552b6c2\">promised they wouldn\u2019t cut hospitals<\/a>\u00a0but they broke their promise.
