Heaton Public School &#8211; MINISTER&#8217;S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING&nbsp;<\/li><li>Jovana Markelic &#8211; Lambton High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ryan Robinson &#8211; Lambton High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT<\/li><li>Kotara School &#8211; SECRETARY\u2019S AWARD FOR AN OUTSTANDING SCHOOL INITIATIVE &#8211; Quality Teaching Round Special Education<\/li><li>Samuel Bloomfield &#8211; Merewether High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT&nbsp;<\/li><li>Noah Brown &#8211; Warners Bay High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT&nbsp;<\/li><li>Dakota Kellar Bridgart &#8211; Warners Bay High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ashlee Dawson &#8211; West Wallsend High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ryan Wood &#8211; West Wallsend High School &#8211; MINISTER\u2019S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT &#8211;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Whitebridge High School &#8211; SECRETARY\u2019S AWARD FOR AN OUTSTANDING SCHOOL INITIATIVE &#8211; VET Student Pathways for the Future<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said she was delighted to highlight the incredible achievements of the public system\u2019s outstanding students and teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cThese awards are a great opportunity to call out the fabulous educators, who every day are making a difference in the lives of children, and the inspiring students demonstrating academic, cultural, sporting and leadership excellence.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners were selected in the following categories:\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Minister\u2019s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement\u202f&nbsp;<\/li><li>Minister\u2019s Award for Excellence in Teaching\u202f&nbsp;<\/li><li>Secretary\u2019s Award for Excellent Service\u202f&nbsp;<\/li><li>Secretary\u2019s Award for an Outstanding School Initiative\u202f&nbsp;<\/li><li>Secretary\u2019s School Achievement Award\u202f&nbsp;<\/li><li>Public School Parent of the Year.\u202f&nbsp;<br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Department of Education Secretary Murat Dizdar said the awards were a great opportunity to recognise outstanding initiatives and staff that were driving improvements across public schools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the number of regional schools showcased in the awards highlighted the Education Department\u2019s commitment to equity of opportunity no matter where students lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Dizdar also acknowledged the role parents played in supporting public schools and public school students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe awards also recognise 12 parents, guardians and caregivers who perform invaluable support roles and who contribute significantly to their local NSW public school community;
