Nominations are now open for a prestigious awards program that showcases inspirational women and their achievements in our state\u2019s councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2023 Ministers\u2019 Awards for Women in Local Government will recognise the significant contribution women make to NSW councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The annual awards are now in their 16th year and recipients will be announced at a ceremony co-hosted by Minister for Local Government Ron Hoenig and Minister for Women Jodie Harrison at Parliament House on Wednesday 4 October 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The award categories include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alternative Pathways Award <\/strong>\u2013 a female staff member who is breaking down gender stereotypes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Champion of Change Award<\/strong> \u2013 a general manager or senior manager (male or female) who has excelled in supporting and encouraging women\u2019s participation at their council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elected Representative Award <\/strong>\u2013 a councillor who has advanced the position of female elected representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Young Achiever\u2019s Award <\/strong>\u2013 an outstanding trainee\/apprentice (aged 25 and under).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Employment Diversity Award <\/strong>\u2013 a successful council program to increase female participation in senior leadership roles or at the elected representative level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Woman of Distinction Award <\/strong>\u2013 a woman who has demonstrated exceptional innovation, integrity and initiative or who has a positive influence on others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Councillor Lilliane Brady OAM Award <\/strong>\u2013 nominations not required.
